The first water reuse plant in Vietnam

The People's Committee of Quang Nam province has just held an inauguration ceremony for the construction of a new water recycling plant in Tam Thang Industrial Zone (Tam Thang commune, Tam Ky city).

The plant uses advanced technology from the United States which combining ultrafiltration membranes (UF) and ozone to recover the total amount of treated wastewater from the wastewater treatment plant of the Tam Thang industrial zone.

This is the first water recycling plant using US technology to be built in Vietnam. It remarksa progress in the treatment of industrial wastewater into a reusable water source.

The plant is built on an area of 2.4 hectares with its designed capacity of 26,000m3per day. The project has two phases: Phase 1 with 13,000m3 per day which expected to be completed in 2017; phase 2 with 13,000m3per day which expected to be completed in 2018-2019 period.The project has its total investment cost of 226.6 billion VND.

After construction, this plant is expected to play an important role in strictly controlling the water source of Tam Thang Industrial Park; saving clean water in the Tam Ky city; reducing production cost for investors especially the textile and dyeing enterprises in Tam Thang industrial zone, contributing to sustainable industrial development in the location.
